~Your Character~

Ludwig Beilschmidt (Germany) Application Tumblr_lx7le3QPbE1qhg65io6_500

Name: Ludwig Beilschmidt
Age: 23
Birthday: October 3rd
Country of Origin: Germany
Floor in the building: 5th
How long they've lived in the building: Moved in about a week or so ago.
Job: Student; used to be apart of eco-demolition
Powers: Density Control and Unlimited Stamina

Appearance:
Big and bulky in nature, Ludwig tends to inspire a mix of awe and fear when first seen. He's only 22, but to most he looks in his late twenties, and people tend to pin him down to 27. 6'0", very muscular, with blonde hair that is slicked back. He has very light blue eyes that sit under eyebrows that are almost always knitted and a forehead with creases. His eyes tend to be another reason why people fear him.

Generally, when Ludwig is at the college, he overdresses. He either wears a suit or at the very least a sports coat over a nice shirt and jeans. The suits always look a bit strange and fit a little small, but Ludwig is adamant that he should dress professionally in the company of professors and other students. At home he's not much more lax; He will rarely lounge in pajamas and collared shirts are his go-to. The only time he will break this code is at work, where he just wears a wifebeater with some worn jeans.

Ludwig wears glasses when he reads (He has farsightedness) and has a piercing on his left ear that is beginning to heal over. It's not noticeable unless one were to be right next to him and looking at it.

Personality:
Sadly, Ludwig can be as scary as he looks.

Ludwig is a no-nonsense sort of guy. He's not a fan of jokes unless they're clever, doesn't enjoy clubbing or parties, laziness, most games, and girls. For him, women naturally lead to nonsense (and he has experienced thus), and that's something he'd rather not get into. When he works he's stays "in the zone," and talks to no one unless he has to. Ludwig is very organized and into cleanliness and schedules. It makes him seem OCD, but in actuality he just grew up that way.

He's also a stress magnet. When Ludwig is annoyed, he barks back at people. Things build up on him until he explodes, and then he resembles a military officer, vaulting into a strict leadership that borderlines dictatorship. Under the glare people follow what he says, and then later do realize that whatever he's said is usually correct (though presented horribly). He usually takes out his stress with his physically greuling job, or when he's not working, booze and cigarettes. He realizes both are deadly, but considers them a necessary risk for his sanity.

When he drinks, Ludwig is very introspective and questions a lot of things (ranging from the meaning of life to why there are so many lights in the freaking bar) which lead to interesting conversation with other bar-goers. He's made friends with some of them that have stayed outside of the bars.

When his friends look past the demanding and scary side of him, he's honest (Brutally so), brave, smart, and a good listener. He has and will defend people who are in need of it, and is very generous with his money. He's good company--if a bit awkward--when he's in good spirits.

Likes:

* Work - Surprisingly, yes, he does. He loves the feeling of being productive. At his job, it's bodybuilding, and school work is brain food.

*Cleanliness/Organization (See Personality) - He feels that these make him less stressed, when it's actually stressful to maintain them sometimes

*Reading - When he has free time, this is how he occupies it

*Massages - They just feel really good, and he saves a set amount of money each paycheck so he can get one

*Dogs - Though he can't maintain one in his current student state, he loves them.

*Drinking - Beer, for the most part. Other drinks take a massive toll on them. He still hasn't learned...

*Soldiers - He has the utmost respect for them. He loves listening to war stories also.

*Winter - Ludwig loves the cold; though he doesn't mind hot weather either.

Dislikes:

*The French - It's just a visceral feeling about them.

*Fantasy - He likes to read, but the closest he will come to the fantasy genre is Sci-Fi

*Women - This goes under the 'I don't understand' category, which is the 'I don't like' category

*Bad Grades - He goes into small hyperventilation mode, which means he bites his lip and stares at his paper until he has processed what he did wrong.

*Turtlenecks - It's just such an awkward piece of clothing.

Any other information:

I should add that he had always gotten along with Gilbert and his friends, particularly Elizaveta, who set a standard for women; He never realized girls aren't usually like that. She was his first crush.

(Is this the place I'm supposed to mention he's a virgin? xD)

History:

Ludwig grew up in Nuremberg where his childhood played out with little to no excitement. He lived with his mother: Dorota Halfner Beilschmidt, a smother-er, a strict but ultimately caring father: Konstantin Beilschmidt, and his older brother whom Ludwig considered a bit of an idol, Gilbert. The four were a close-knitted family, and Ludwig was happy.

Ludwig was always at or near the top of his class throughout his primary and secondary years at school, at times giving him a bad reputation with other students, which his brother would amend with... physical means... unawares to Ludwig, who honestly never noticed it much (Like I've said, he was a happy kid.) In the late years of his secondary school his family lost a good chunk of their money due to a terrible financial advisor, and their father was unable to pay for both their tuitions. With the decision that Ludwig already had some college credits, so he would graduate faster, he was shipped off to college where he decided to become an economics/personal finance major due to the advisor that had let them down.

With the sudden loss of his family--especially his brother--Ludwig grew depressed. His roomate, whom he had gotten along well with, turned him to cigarettes and vodka. The phase only lasted for about a month, before he fell off a second story balcony and hit his head. Three days later he woke up with most of his happy childhood memories gone or fuzzy, terrible grades, and his parents looking down at him worredly. The friend, never telling him about the actual event, decided never to mention vodka again.

Luckily Ludwig had maintained most of his studies in his head, and straightened up for the next semester. He made good grades, and kept the trend. He felt a bit lonely, but not as much as before. His mother and father kept contacting him, but he had never heard from his brother, and forgot mainly about him.

His third year into college he had branched out into socio-economics and politics, and took on another major, and grew quite happy with his studies while taking a job in demolition. He worked for an eco-company that took apart as much good wood as possible from a sold home/building to re-use for other projects. It was physically exhausting and hard, but Ludwig enjoyed it immensely, sometimes working overtime for the extra money and the extra time outside. His already big figure grew more toned with the work, and Ludwig kept himself busy almost all the time.

At the end of that year a professor suggested he become an exchange student for a year, now that he had the financial backing of the school. He took the opportunity to look up his brother and go find him in the heart of England: London. Thank goodness he had the wit to take English as a foreign language.

It took him a while to track down his brother, but he finally did, and set up his apartment situation with the school nearby. They would back him if he came in to some of the German classes during his stay. Easy enough.

Then he met his brother. Not so easy. It was definitely an awkward situation, especially when Ludwig didn't remember him entirely. He still held him as an idol--that feeling stayed--but he'd have to build that relationship back up again.

But as the fickle weather of London had it, there was a terrible lightning storm within two nights of his stay. Now he was beginning to aclitimisze to his new powers...

Details of their powers:

Density Control: (Mass or 'Thickness' Control)

Ludwig is able to either make himself very thick to the point of concrete, or thin until he becomes wispy. He doesn't change his body in any way size or form; this works because the mass changes with the set volume he already has.

-In the 'thickened' form, he best resembles a slowly hardening punching bag. His skin is the same and able to bruise, but if someone were to punch him, it would be very painful, and even break it, depending on how hard the punch was. It's very difficult for him to move in this form.

-In the 'wispy' form, he looses so much mas that it seems like he's gaseous. His form still holds, but it can be hard to see him. Punches in this form barely leave a bruise, because there is little contact to be had. He's very light in this form, so he could be picked up and blown very far away by a bad wind or thrown like a frisbee. Movements in this form are very hard also because he encounters a lot of air resistance

**After long bouts of practice and some imagination, Ludwig could learn how to not go all the way thick or all the way thin, or only make certain parts of his body do it. It would take awhile.**

Unlimited Physical Stamina:

This is an adopted power that just stays. It can't be turned on or off, really. As it says, Ludwig doesn't suffer from tiredness physically, he could run a marathon at running speed and never have to slow down, or stay up to finish those late-night papers easily. His mind is not immune though, so he needs to sleep, and the power gave him a high metabolism, so he needs to eat frequently when exerting it.

RP Sample: Ludwig surveyed the damage of the building from his balcony: bits of rubble on the ground, stirred up dirt in the pool and branches strewn across the patches of grass in the apartment complex. Ludwig swept a particularly damp pile of leaves under the railing, making a spot check to see if anything else outside his room was messed up. All seemed well, and he headed inside, shrugging on a coat to head outside.

He had only been at the apartment for a week and a half now, and he hadn't even had any time to explore the area before it was wrecked from a nasty storm. He was either at the private school down the road or unpacking (which was truly just straightening up) his room. At this point he might as well inspect the area now, and perhaps he could help clear out some of the debris that others couldn't.

Ludwig had to pick a careful path through the mess as he came out of the complex and across the street, into the park. Truly, the storm had taken a toll on the town. It didn't look like anyone was out; perhaps the reality hadn't hit the occupants yet.

He brushed off another set of twigs with his foot. It seemed pointless to come here without a set of supplies--at the very least a broom--was a stupid and inefficient decision on his part. Ludwig sighed and turned back, but paused as he heard a crack to the side. He looked over, only to see the battered tree he hadn't noticed while clearing the path. The tree leaned awfully close, and as he heard more snaps he realized the sinews of the wood were breaking. Stunned, he was stuck inbetween the fight or flight decision. His body didn't make the decision for him--he tensed and shut his eyes tightly as the tree descended on him.

A moment later, he opened them, and his head was surrounded by a sea of green. Shaking his head, he looked down at his feet--his standing feet. As if there was a creature perched on him, Ludwig turned his head slowly to see half of the tree resting on his shoulder. He felt nothing. He moved his hands to rid the leaves and branches from his eyes, but they felt like concrete: very heavy and very stiff.

Eventually his arms made it to where they were supposed to, and with slow flicks of his fingers he was able to see again. Another painfully slow process and his hands were braced against the trunk. He was dreaming, surely.

He pushed against the large oak, and it lifted a few inches. His muscles bulged, and he pushed his strength to the max, but Ludwig felt he could do it. With deliberate movements, the mass was moved upward, then fell down on the other side. And instead of feeling tired, Ludwig felt the same. There was a dull ache on his arm and a spreading bruise, evidence that what had just happened was reality.

But what had just happened?

A little about yourself:
* - I'm into history, debate, politics/government, economics, and editing (I like the process of writing, and usually help others out who have creative stories instead of doing them myself)
* - I grew up with anime (Sailor Moon and Pokemon)
* - I love the color orange, and I'm into all kinds of music
* - I'm also into all kinds of pairings.
Anything Else?:
(I'm going to put RP related things under this heading...)
* - I actually got into RP again a few months ago after not doing it for years.
* - I roleplayed on Tumblr, where, sadly, the responses are short, so it's a bit of an adjustment to see everyone's beautifully long responses!
* - I'm mainly a mirror roleplayer.
