Appearance:

Simon is a young boy with an undefined body shape. With his androgynous features he's been often mistaken for a little girl. He has skinny limbs covered in smooth pale skin. He is short for his age, standing at 4' 5.5" inches. His face is round and youthful, also making easily mistaken for a child younger than he is. He has big blue-violet (indigo?) eyes, and a small beauty mark below the corner of his left eye. Simon's expression is usually blank with a look of innocence, and a slight frown in the corner of his mouth. He has long hair which is such a light coloured white that is, for all practical purposes, white. It reaches halfway down his thighs in length, but keeps them in two braids which makes them seem shorter, going as far down as his hips. He has messy bangs that get in his face. Much like his brother he has one strand of hair that defies gravity and sticks up no matter what. He has an over all fragile look to him.

Simon is accustomed to a well-groomed, formal, semi-formal style. He usually wears a purple pinstriped button down, with a beige vest on top. He wears baggy purple shorts, tan or gold leggings, and brown boots. He occasionally wears a red beret when going out. Other than that he tends to dress in a neat long-sleeve shirt, and slacks. Unlike most boys his age, he isn't fond of t-shirts and jeans.

Personality:

Simon is a relatively quiet boy in public places. He keeps to himself and tries to avoid attention. When talking to strangers he is very shy, using "Um's" and "uh's" a lot. Though he is also very polite with strangers. He always uses German honorifics with adults (Herr, Fräulein, and Frau). He uses manners whenever he can because he grew up with a calm and reserved family. When people try to get close to him, whether it's emotionally or mentally, he pushes them away, not wanting to get near them.

With his brother, Simon is much more expressive. He enjoys learning and discussing music, and loves to share his drawings with Roderich. He smiles and laughs with him and close friends much more than he does with anyone else. He thinks of his brother as a good person, and looks up to him. He wants to be as great as him, but instead of music with visual art. He draws with a passion, and has a horrible habit of doodling on most papers he gets. Many adults in the past had told him he is an amazing artist, but he always protests saying that "That is an opinionated compliment."

With his power of Empathy Simon finds it hard to really be himself with others. He feels others' emotions and often can't help expressing them as his own. This makes him appear to have violent mood swings when others' emotions are strongly negative. He occasionally goes into a depression that takes positive emotions of people around him to get out. This has also been known to make people think of him as eccentric.

Simon is a curious boy that likes to ask questions, but really only to his brother. He tries to figure things out, and doesn't really like listening to what other people tell him to do. This get's him into trouble with adults. He can't really help it, he's just too curious to sit around and not go figure things out. He hates to sit still, unless he has something to occupy him, such as drawing or music.

Likes:

Baumkuchen. It is his favourite pastry, and probably food. His favourite is when Roderich makes it. It's sweet, he's a kid, do the math.

Music. He loves listening to it. Just about any genre he enjoys. He especially likes it when he can watch a person play too.

Drawing. He doodles and draws constantly. At home, at school, anywhere. He is very good at drawing what he sees.

His brother. Because Simon isn't the most social, Roderich is one of his few close friends, and he really opens up to him.

Piano. He is learning to play the piano. It isn't a top priority of his, being a kid, but he still enjoys it. He also loves to sit around and listen to it when Roderich plays.

Dislikes:

Loud obnoxious music. Heavy metal, death metal, hard rock. To Simon it shouldn't even be called music.

Rain. It isn't art! He isn't the most excited by the amount of rain in London, but it can't be helped. As a child he is always tempted to complain about it when he's bored.

Spicy foods. His tolerance to spice is zilch. He refuses to eat anything spicy.

Messes. Simon likes things clean and neat. He hates messes that take too long to clean up. He spares himself the time by just keeping things neat in the first place.

School. C'mon, what 13 year old likes school? He can sense his teachers are frustrated with him, which makes him cooperate even less with them, and they get more frustrated, and it snowballs.

Any other information:

Since he got his powers his grades have been slipping. His teachers put him in Special ED, which they thought would help.

History:

When Simon was born his mother died. Not long after his birth he and Roderich went to live with their aunt and uncle. She was a kind woman that Simon knew as the only motherly figure in his life, but he grew closer to Roderich than anyone else. He was still just an infant, and the only children he met were the stuck rich kids that were brought to parties that he was dragged along to also. This gave him the idea that most children are this way, which is obviously, not true at all. His brother took care of him most, and his aunt when she wasn't hosting or going to one of her fancy-pants parties.

Roderich first moved away to London when Simon was six, and he was left to be taken care of by his aunt. He grew up for three years without his brother, which really left a hole in his life. When he was 8 years old his uncle began to take notice of him, and not in the good way. His delicate, and feminine-like features had caught his eye. A year went by and his uncle's interest slowly increased, and became more obvious.

At the age of nine, big brother Roderich came to the rescue, and brought him to London, England with him. There he settled down with him in Gracefield House. His brother enrolled him into school, where he started off badly. With his take on other children as spoiled and bratty, he didn't get along. Slowly he opened up though, and got a few friends. Though, when he got his powers he closed back up, tighter than before. Now he's trying to let himself out again, but with more difficulty than before.

Details of their powers:

Empathy: Empathy is the ability to sense others' feelings. It is feelings in both physical and emotional terms. Not to be confused with telepathy, Simon is unable to know what people are thinking. He can actually know what others feel, and can feel them himself. The emotions of others often take over his own. If someone, say, has a migraine, Simon can tell. He also has the symptoms of it, not necessarily as bad, but they are there. When some one is angry, he gets angry for no other reason than his power, and acts upon it. This power of his is always occurring, he has no idea how to stop it.

Ink Manipulation: It is the ability to control and manipulate ink at will. This includes moving ink, taking the ink out of things such as paper and skin tattoos, using it to write/alter messages or images into documents, tattoos, etc. Simon can mold ink into a variety of shapes, and it's not just ink from pens, he can also control ink from markers, and sharpies too. He has bad control of it, though he can use it when he wants. The ink tends to go back to the way it was, liquid, when he's in the middle of controlling it.

RP Sample:

Simon stared out the window with wide eyes. He watched as the sky lit up with a strip of light, and muttered a 'wow.' He loved this, he always had been fascinated by thunderstorms. Quickly he went to the pembroke drawer, and grabbed his sketchbook and pencil. Just as he was about to sit down he heard Roderich's voice, "No, it's time for bed, Simon." Simon looked over to see his brother standing half out of the bathroom with a toothbrush in his hand. His shoulders sagged. "You can draw it in the morning." Simon shuffled into the bedroom to get to bed. In bed Simon curled up in the blankets, and continued to watch the storm as it flashed in the window. His eyes were glued to outside, but he dozed off not long after.

In the middle of the night Simon was deep asleep. Suddenly he awoke with a startling pain. It flashed through him. His back arched with a throbbing in his shoulder blades, as if something burst through his skin. His temples ached, and his head filled with a delicate tenderness. He coughed, feeling like he was choking. Anger, fear, panic, he felt them all, they rushed throughout him. He didn't understand, he was confused, and it wasn't his own confusion. Tears flooded down his cheeks. "Roderich!" He tried to call out, but it only came in a choked up whisper. He curled up, into the fetal position. A squeaky whine came out as he cried. So many feelings, and pains shot through him, after all of five minutes of it, he was unconscious. Twisted in the blanket, he laid there, in a pain that still continued throughout his young subconscious.
